Host Revolution Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
|
Despite a great performance by New York starter Kurt Mosher, the San Juan Defenders defeated the Revolution by the score of 4-2 at Liberty Park today. Mosher threw 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs, but he couldn't prevent the Defenders from moving one game closer to the World Series. San Juan now leads the Championship Series 3-2.
San Juan used the clutch hitting of Travis Curtis to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Defenders the lead, 3-2. For the game, Curtis had 1 single and 1 double in 3 at-bats.
Curtis called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
Game 6 is scheduled for Monday at El Morro Park in San Juan.
