Saturday, September 1st , 2046
The deal is done and the fans are overjoyed.
The San Juan Defenders will have a new owner soon and the fans are glad he is one of them.
He's Trevor Thorn, a popular local civic leader and businessman.
Thorn has bought the club from Tom Stone and will take over as soon as he gets approval by the NABA owners.
Last season the San Juan Defenders came in first in the Continental League Gulf with a 51-30 record.
As far as attitude and character, sources close to Thorn told reporters off-the-record that he was quite charitable in financial areas and tolerant in character and temperament.

NABA Headline News: The Offseason Begins
Saturday, September 1st , 2046
It was the best of times in the just-finished NABA season. It is now the offseason in baseball. While the annual awards will be announced shortly, for many fans and some players, this is the worst of times. An old-time player was once asked what he did in the offseason. He replied, "Mostly, I just stand at the window and stare and wait for the new season." Many fans feel that way, too.
The feeling is certainly different in NABA front offices, though. For those men and women, the offseason is a hectic time of roster evaluations, analysis and change. Who will re-sign? What players will we go after? Where should we send our scouts? Who will be hanging up his spikes? Each club's success for next year and beyond will be largely determined by the wheelin' and dealin' that transpires over the next several months.
You may now vote for the league award winners, the option is available in the league menu.
