Vikings Scratch Out 2-1 Win
|
The Norfolk Vikings got a magnificent effort from pitcher Jerry Galvan, who kept Tampa hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Vikings win at Freedom Lake. With the loss, Tampa sinks to 4-2.
Norfolk used the timely hitting of Andy Morris to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Vikings on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Galvan called the win "a collective effort."
