The 10-5 Columbus win over Sacramento was due largely to Dave Redinger. The Cavaliers third baseman went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The current losing streak for Sacramento has reached 11 games.

The Sluggers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Cavaliers going into the top of the second inning. That changed quickly when the three-time All-Star Mike Gay came to the plate. Gay hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 slider from Sacramento hurler Kyle Galinis. It was Gay's 6th home run of the year.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Redinger said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
