Lightning Stumble, Lose to Raiders
|
Louisville got a terrific game from designated hitter Arif Paramita. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Tuscon, 8-4. Paramita was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. Jake Shelfer picked up the win with 8 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 6-5. Graham Parkins picked up the save for Tuscon, his 14th of the year.
In the bottom of the fifth, Tuscon left fielder Jared Trombly had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Trombly stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 4-2, Tuscon. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We maximized our offense today," said Tuscon skipper Lookie Wookie. "That makes everyone's life easier."
The second-place Raiders have a record of 29-30.
