Cavaliers Come Up Short at Salt Lake City, 6-5
|
Bob Krebs left his imprint on the 6-5 Salt Lake City win against the Columbus Cavaliers. Krebs, who finished 5th in the CL in OPS with .933 last year, went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the win was Frank Miller. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 1 and walked 3. Salt Lake City is now 36-38, while Columbus is 31-43.
Andy Cannarella, who finished 2nd in the FL in stolen bases with 20 last year, helped out the Salt Lake City cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 3 with a triple and was hit by a pitch.
"We played hard and won," said Krebs. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
