New York Spoils Terrific Game by Closs
The New York Revolution got a superb performance from right fielder Eddie Closs. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Norfolk. The Vikings won the game, 9-7. Closs went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. The winner in relief was Josh Boes. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Kyle Taylor recorded his 2nd save for Norfolk.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Eric Pridgeon came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing New York pitcher Allen Woliver, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Norfolk on top, 5-4.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Pridgeon told the Norfolk Citizen.

At 2-1, the Vikings have played well so far.
