Defenders Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
Orlando second baseman John Vande Streek had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-7, to San Juan at El Morro Park. Vande Streek was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Defenders, at 21-2, have now won 11 straight.

San Juan won the game in the bottom of the 17th inning. With no outs and Ryan Dickie on the mound for Orlando, shortstop Orlando Pena hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Defenders fans to their feet.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Pena said.
