Mystique Curb Sluggers, 6-1
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Sacramento Sluggers and Music City Mystique get after it.
Music City starter Nick Patton put a stranglehold on the Sacramento offense. The left-hander had complete command of his knuckle curve in leading the Mystique to a 6-1 win. Patton, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs.
Isaiah Smith, who led the FL in OPS with 1.000 last year, helped out the Music City cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Smith told the Music City Daily.
Early on, the Mystique, at 9-3, have excelled.
