Cavaliers Nip Lightning, 2-1
|
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.
Columbus used a superb performance from starting pitcher Adam Bigelow to down the Louisville Lightning, 2-1. Columbus is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 4th win in 12 games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 18th inning, when Columbus second baseman Nick Gutierrez, facing Kevin Arceneaux, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cavaliers the 2-1 win.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Louisville skipper Lookie Wookie.
