Mexico City Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Mexico City right fielder Justin Spatafore contributed to his team's 4-3 win over the Columbia Crusaders. Spatafore, who finished 5th in the CL in wins above replacement with 4.0 in 2052, went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Blazers. The win belongs to Greg Nugent in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Ken Testa took the loss for Columbia. With the victory, the Blazers upped their record to 22-22.
Alvaro Luzunaris was the walk-off hero for Mexico City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blazers first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Spatafore said in his postgame press conference.
