The 8-5 Tampa win over Mexico City was due in large part to David Gamez. The Crocodiles center fielder went 3-4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 runs. Tampa goes to 26-26, Mexico City to 32-20.

Mike Poe, who finished 2nd in the FL in on-base percentage with .452 in 2048, helped out the Tampa cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter went 2-5 with a double.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Tampa manager Lookie Wookie.
