The NOVA Navigators overcame a fine performance by Hamilton second baseman Rob Stepheson to defeat the Hitters, 7-4, at Swiss Chalet Stadium. Stepheson was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. NOVA is now 25-28, while Hamilton is 21-32.

Steve Gutierrez hit a 2-run triple off Butch Smith in the top of the seventh, which put the Navigators in front, 5-4. Gutierrez had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 3.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Gutierrez.
