Brawlers Clip Bulldogs, 6-5
|
Dallas got a decent performance from pitcher Carlos Martinez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Brooklyn Brawlers. Brooklyn won the Bomber's Park contest, 6-5. Martinez threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Brooklyn reliever Mike Savage picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Jorge Santana absorbed the loss. The third-place Brawlers sport a record of 38-26.
The Brawlers procured the win, in large part because of shortstop Damian Rubio. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Rubio told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
