Crusaders Beat Revolution, 3-2
|
The Columbia Crusaders stymied the New York Revolution, 3-2, at Segra Park. Earl Cote had a good day at the plate. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs for Columbia. The triumph makes Columbia 25-47.
In the bottom of the fifth, Columbia first baseman Jon Maroney had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Maroney stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Columbia. For the game, he was 2-3 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs.
Cote said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
