Defenders 1B Cote Gets the Cycle Monday, August 27th , 2046 Most fans have never seen a player hit for the cycle, and most players have never done it -- but it happened today at Labatt Park. Earl Cote of the San Juan Defenders accomplished the feat against Pittsburgh Monongahelas. Cote went 4-for-5 with 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run in the 7-6 San Juan victory. "That was one for the grandkids, am I right?" Cote said after the game. Cote also scored 3 runs and had 3 runs batted in in a day to remember for both Cote and the crowd at Labatt Park. Earl Cote doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off John Hansen in the 5th, singled in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.
